While I was at the Trade show that Dish had they showed some new concepts they had in the works. One of these concepts I found to be very cool. It is a feature that only works with the new Hopper system just so you know. It is a remote that has a keyboard on the back. When you flip the remote over a search bar appears on the screen. This allows you to search for a program or find a channel just by typing in the name. You can allow connect to social media sites and post about what you're watching while actually watching that show. The coolest feature I liked was being able to tag spots in your recordings so you can find you favorite parts of shows easier.
It's so hard to descibe all the great features this remote has and cool it could be. The best way to get an idea of what it truly does is to see it. There is a youtube video of Echostar giving a demo of the remote and it is pretty awesome. I suggest you check it out if you are a tech-type person like me.
I have a few exciting things going on that I'd like to mention. We recently started carrying a new brand of laundry and it's already been a hit. I really feel this is what everyone has been looking for when it comes to a heavy duty washer for chore clothes or other heavily soiled clothing. Speed Queen laundry carries a 3 year warranty and has a life expectancy of 25 years. I'm working on putting in another order soon.
I just got back this weekend from Dish's Team Summit and heard some great things. If you haven't heard of the new Hopper system you need to check it out. It is the most advanced HD Whole Home DVR system there is. One of the great new features that was announced is the Auto Hop feature. When this feature is active it will automatically skip commercials when you are watching recorded Prime Time televisions shows. Just imagine being able to watch your favorite shows without commercials!
One last thing. Don't forget about the 24 month financing offer we have right now. It is available at no extra cost to you, there is no interest if paid before the 24 months and we are only able to offer it until May 31. You really need to take advantage of this if you are interested in appliances or electronics. I doubt we will have an offer like this again, typically we only have 6 months to offer for free.
Just want to give everyone a heads up that many appliance brands are increasing their prices again this spring and summer. Starting in May GE with have their increase and Maytag will have theirs in June. If you are in the market for some new appliances you should start buying now even if you don't need them for a few weeks. Buying now could save you $50-$100 per appliance.
The new Hopper system launched yesterday for Dish. I had the priviledge to upgrade my equipment to the new Hopper system yesterday. It took me a little while to change some cables and get it activated but it was worth it.
The new Hopper has 3 tuners in it so I can record more shows than ever before. With the Joey companions I can have more TVs in HD all running off of the Hopper. I like to record a lot of programming so I added a second Hopper. That gives me the capability to record up to 6 programs at once. With the new system I have the ability to pause what I'm watching in one room and then continue watching it in another room. This is Dish's whole-house DVR solution and it is the future for Dish.
I found out some more details about the newest receiver from Dish and it's very exciting. New and existing customers will be able to get the new equipment starting March 15th. The Hopper is a three tuner DVR that can run up to four HDTVs by using additional boxes called Joeys. Thsi new system will allow you to jump from room to room while still watching the same program. It's a whole home DVR solution and it's all in HD. This is the most excited I've been for a new product from Dish. I'm excited to put it in my own home and just as thrilled to sell it to you. I really believe this will solve a lot of problems for people that want HD in more than one room.

It's been a busy week. We just finished our display floor by stripping off the old paint and polishing the concrete. If you're curious how it looks make sure to stop by. We finally got our appliances back on the floor and rearranged a few things. So far we have painted our walls, stained the trim and polished the concrete floor. Things are looking pretty good here at Scherrman's.

It's getting to that exciting time of the year again. The busiest shopping time of the year when the biggest deals every are offered. It's been a while since I've updated the website. We have been extremely busy the entire month of September selling and installing DISH Network. For any of the unfortunate people out there who are losing their cable service at the end of the month, please be aware that we are a local retailer for DISH Network and can have you installed in a matter of days.
If satellite TV isn't the answer for you we also sell and install over-the-air antennas. You'd be surprised at how many channels are available and how great the picture quality is. If you know someone that is wondering what they should do, please give us a call or stop by.
We finally got our shipment of Tailgeters in yesterday. I had the pleasure of setting it up and testing out right away. I must say it was extremely easy. You just need the right equipment. You will need a 211k receiver, which is the only receiver it is compatible with at the moment. You will also need a TV and obviously some kind of power supply. When out camping or tailgaiting you will not always have access to power so you may need a generator.
I set up ours behind the store and used a Honda inverter generator, 211k receiver, 24" LED TV and the Tailgater. It's really not that much to hook up. Once everything is connected and turned on you will see a screen on the TV that asks what state you are in. Once that is selected you select scan and it starts searching for the proper satellites. From there you just sit back and wait for your progamming to come on. That's it! No leveling or pointing the dish antenna and most important, NO FRUSTRATION.
If you are looking for a mobile dish set up for any purpose you should strongly consider this. It's easy and inexpensive and it's available at Scherrman's.
So it's still pretty darn hot out there and it's not going to get much better for a little while yet. We had our best A/C sales in years. We are currently out of all A/C inventory except for one 18,000 btu model. I don't think we'll be able to get any more in until the next season.
