It's been a while since I've updated the website.  We have been extremely busy the entire month of September selling and installing DISH Network.  For any of the unfortunate people out there who are losing their cable service at the end of the month, please be aware that we are a local retailer for DISH Network and can have you installed in a matter of days.

If satellite TV isn't the answer for you we also sell and install over-the-air antennas.  You'd be surprised at how many channels are available and how great the picture quality is.  If you know someone that is wondering what they should do, please give us a call or stop by.

    We finally got our shipment of Tailgeters in yesterday.  I had the pleasure of setting it up and testing out right away.  I must say it was extremely easy.  You just need the right equipment.  You will need a 211k receiver, which is the only receiver it is compatible with at the moment.  You will also need a TV and obviously some kind of power supply.  When out camping or tailgaiting you will not always have access to power so you may need a generator.

   I set up ours behind the store and used a Honda inverter generator, 211k receiver, 24" LED TV and the Tailgater.  It's really not that much to hook up.  Once everything is connected and turned on you will see a screen on the TV that asks what state you are in.  Once that is selected you select scan and it starts searching for the proper satellites.  From there you just sit back and wait for your progamming to come on.  That's it!  No leveling or pointing the dish antenna and most important, NO FRUSTRATION.

   If you are looking for a mobile dish set up for any purpose you should strongly consider this.  It's easy and inexpensive and it's available at Scherrman's.

So it's still pretty darn hot out there and it's not going to get much better for a little while yet.  We had our best A/C sales in years.  We are currently out of all A/C inventory except for one 18,000 btu model.  I don't think we'll be able to get any more in until the next season.  Hope you are all able to keep cool the rest of the summer.

Our shipment of window A/C and dehumidifiers came in this afternoon.  When it comes to A/C our order has to be put in months ahead of time so we need to plan according to how many we think we'll sell.  Basically what this means is that me may not have a lot of every model.  We have good supply of smaller window A/C but we only have a couple large models.  If you think you need one now is the time to buy.  They are made by GE and most are energy star models.

So Neil and I just got back from DISH Network's Team Summit.  This event happens once a year in May and is the time DISH announces most of their biggest news.  A lot of big things have been happening with DISH in the first quarter of the year.  They bought HughesNet and Blockbuster along with settling a lawsuit with Tivo.  DISH has some huge plans for the future with these acquisitions.

The Blockbuster acquisition puts DISH in a great position for online video content.  Customers will be able to go to Dishonline.com to watch almost any of their favorite shows and movies.  You don't even have to be a customer of DISH to be able to take advantage of their site.

For those of you wishing DISH would come out with a whole home DVR solution they made the big announcement.  DISH is expecting to roll out a new receveiver at the end of this year that will be able to put HD programming on three different TVs.  All three TVs will have DVR capabilities too!  It's a very exciting time to be DISH customer or in the market to get DISH!

We are gradually getting new 2011 models in stock.  We now have the LG 42" LCD, LG 42" LED LCD, LG 47" LCD and Samsung 46" LED LCD on display.  Hoping to get the new LG 50" and 42" Plasmas in soon.  Some models went up in price a little and some have some nice price drops.  Come check them out.

If you have been dreaming of getting a new TV or appliances now is the best time.  Put that tax return to good use and treat yourself to a new big screen TV.

FYI, GE and Whirlpool appliances are having a price increase in the first part of April.  Whirlpool includes Maytag and Amana brands.

TV sales seem to be staying strong through the holiday season.  Once one TV special ends we are able to come up with another one.  The LG 42" 1080p LCD with FREE Blu-Ray Player has been selling well.

Don't forget about the specials we have on appliances too.  Clean steel kitchen packages are still available at great prices.  The GE front load set we have had on sale is almost out.  D

Thanksgiving week was a busy one.  We sold a lot of TVs and are still moving them.  The industry as whole has been moving a lot of TVs.  If you plan on getting a TV for yourself or another make sure to buy soon.  Some models may be hard to come by.  We will try to keep the most popular models in stock.  The LG 42" LCD 1080p has been the most popular.
